October in Italy: Wine and Food Festivals

Every year in Autumn the many food and wine festivals happening around the entire country combine very pleasantly with the onset of winter and the cold. How better to enjoy a clear and sunny autumn afternoon than by strolling around on a food market in Italy, tasting a range of delicious fresh mushroom dishes, chocolates, roasted walnuts, honey, truffles and much more. The most renowned of these festivals are the White Truffles Festival in Alba, in the beautiful Piemonte region, the Perugia Chocolate Festival for all the sweet-teeth amongst us or even the many wine festivals in the vineyards surrounding Rome.
