9flats introduces

9flats Host Maruska

Today we’d like to tell you about Maruska, a 9flats.com host who has a Berlin apartment listed with us. She describes 9flats as ‘cool’, and we’d like to return the same compliment to her!

With her superb taste when it comes to interior design and her welcoming personality, you couldn’t wish for anything more from a 9flats host. We are delighted that Maruska attended one of our host events and to have had the opportunity to meet both her and other hosts in person.

As you will see from the video below, Maruska offers so much more than a stay in an anonymous hotel room – by staying in her apartment (or indeed in any 9flats listed property) you will indeed ‘stop being a tourist’, feel like a local and during your visit have the opportunity to spend your time somewhere that is absolutely unique.

Maruska’s own original artwork adorns the walls and she has taken a lot of care with the furniture and small touches, decorating it impeccably with a mix of modern and 50s and 60s style pieces – all which combine to give her apartment a distinctive and inviting appealing interior style.

For those who haven’t yet visited Berlin, Maruska mentions that the apartment is in Friedrichshain. This a central location in Berlin city and was formerly a part of East Berlin – a must for people interested in history. The apartment is on a open street with impressive architecture and is only 3 stops away from Alexanderplatz. This is the central hub of Berlin where the city’s main landmark the ‘Fernsehturm‘ (television tower) is located, along with Alexanderplatz S Bahn station. From there you can travel easily to most parts of the city by tram, bus, underground or overground train.

Maruska also mentions the great night-life of Friedrichshain and this is true! This area of Berlin is packed full of small bars, cafés, and for those who want to go dancing, clubs.

Thinking of visiting Berlin? The BVG transport has a handy website (in English and German) to help calculate journey times.

Here are our current listings for Berlin.

(PS! Notice the green thumbs up symbol on the Berlin listings? This means the apartment has been checked by us. It is a symbol that the photos and description match the reality. Getting the green thumbs up from 9flats means your apartment ranks higher, so more potential guests see it. If you’d like to avail of this service, just email us and we’ll try our best to organise it for you).
