Ibiza – Ibiza!
You just have to step out to realize that summer is just around the corner (or not). It’s time to go buy yourself swim gear, start dieting and most importantly think about where will you go on holidays this year. 9flats.com is here to help you, so in the coming weeks we are going to talk about some of the major tourist destinations in Spain where sunshine is pretty much guaranteed.
To begin this series of articles we have decided to write about the Balearic Islands, the second most touristic region of Spain, Catalonia being the “numero uno”. Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera each year receive 9.8 million foreign tourists – 6 millions of which head straight to Ibiza, so we will start there!
Ibiza is famous worldwide for its clubs and nightlife. The most visited areas of the island are the city of Ibiza, the capital of the island, and also the area of Sant Antoni de Portmany. The holiday season usually starts with the good weather in June and ends in October.
However, Ibiza offers much more than music, partying and nightlife. The island has idyllic coves that will surely amaze sun worshipers.
It is important to bear one thing in mind: the less accessible is a creek, the less crowded it will be. For example, the Santa Eulalia beach, in the municipality of the same name, is an urban beach getaway for families and tourists alike, but don’t forget to visit Cala Boix, a secluded cove surrounded by mountains.
There are also plenty of cultural activities available on the island, like sampling local products such as traditional herbal liqueur or a visit to Ibiza’s Cathedral built in the thirteenth century.
At 9flats.com we have a wide range of accommodation in Ibiza. Take a look at this apartment with a swimming pool between the capital and Playa d’en Bossa, or this picturesque country house in Ibiza. Here you can see the whole range of apartments for rent in Ibiza.
