9 flats outing
Work trip to Prague!
I was recently fortunate to make my maiden trip to Prague for a short 24-hour work trip. Unfortunately my work duties left me with only a few precious hours to see the city before having to rush back to the airport and my flight home. What to do?
A major part of the solution – book a stay in Prague with 9flats, which allowed me to stay in a flat right the middle of the city, complete with my own local host (and guide!) to steer me to the best attractions in the shortest time possible.
Kelly B was a brilliant host. She boasts a beautiful flat with everything I needed to get some work done (privacy and a WIFI connection) and some solid advice on how to check out the city. She even has a small library of Prague travel books, which came in handy as she helped me map out my lightning strike city tour.
With my work done, I set out to see what I could of Prague in two hours or less. I had heard so much about the city over the years – everything from its occupation by the Nazis, the forty years spent behind the Iron Curtain and its reemergence as one of Europe’s most popular destinations – and I couldn’t wait to discover it.
Let’s just say I didn’t leave disappointed. As I walked from Old Town Square to the Charles Bridge and finally up to the towering Prague Castle, beautiful buildings and vistas appeared at every turn…
…and like a dream, all too soon it was time for me to jump into my airport taxi and back to the “real world.”
But I saw more than enough that convinced me that I’ll need to be planning my return trip to Prague soon, this time for a “proper” visit to fully enjoy everything that this amazing city has to offer…
